A Butterfly

In africa,

a butterfly flaps its wings,

and it starts to rain in the desert after a drought.

People come running out of their tiny homes,

skipping and jumping around,

letting the rain run streaks over their dirty faces.

In Mexico,

a butterfly flaps its wings,

and it stops raining in Maine,

where there have been floods all week from the non-stop rain.

Mothers come out of the house to tend to their drooping over watered plants,

and little children come outside and play after being holed up all week with nothing to do but watch reruns of Spongebob.

In Europe,

a butterfly flaps its wings

and an SWAT team finally spots the people they have been searching for after a month of searching,

Standing on a bare desert island,

all alone in the middle of the clear blue ocean.
